"In The Beginning:"
In 1992, our son, Tracy D. Logsdon, inquired if there was an
existing Logsdon "Family Tree" book. Sadly, there was not, as no family
member had made an attempt to document our family. He (our son) said that I
should create such a book and that he had faith that I could do it!
I told him it would be very difficult with all the older members of the
family deceased, and I not knowing for sure where my Great-Grandad had come
from. However, after inquiries to the state of Ohio, I discovered work that
was done on "The Logsdon's" by Harry C. Logsdon, who did a very good job on
the current Logsdon family. But, all listing of our early American ancestor
(one William Logsden), was sketchy, and mostly handed down over the years by
rumor and traditions. But with this work, visits to "older" family members,
and countless trips to cemeteries, courthouses and record centers, it formed
a basis to make our "Family Tree".
All later England investigation, the "LDS" church records, and input from
"Logsdon Researchers" added to our knowledge. I dedicate this family work
on the Logsdon family to our son; Tracy D. Logsdon (8/25/67 - 7/25/99). I
feel he would have been proud of the result.
