Meeting Synopsis

Due to problems with access to the Library meeting room, LCC meetings will now be held at the H.S. Superintendent’s office; please continue to enter by the back door; day/time remains the same—1^st Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.

Guess that Lovington place…Keith had a great idea to begin putting an elusive local picture in the Lovington newspaper. We decided to put in a photo quarterly with a prize worth approximately $25 purchased from a local business. So watch the paper for the first one coming out soon!

Ideas were in abundance as Annette suggested to host an event after the Halloween judging contest. The Village is having the Halloween Costume Judging Contest on October 25^th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Immediately after the judging, the LCC will distribute hot dogs, chips, cookies, and apple cider—free for those in costume (ALL AGES), charge for those not in costume.

Decided to send out an LCC info page to let new people know what the Community Club is about, let long time residents know what we’ve accomplished recently, and invite others to come participate.

Installed officers. Annette Coslow (Secretary), Jackie James (VP) and Sally Duncan (Treasurer) remain in the same positions. Dr. Roy Smith was voted in as the new President!

Apple Day is coming up so watch for details soon!

Volunteer Opportunities:

We need people to help at the Halloween Event October 25^th from about 2 – 5 pm

We always welcome people to help out on a committee…it relieves the stress of one person having to handle it by themselves.

We have 2 committees that need a committee chairman (see below).

We will need people to help at Apple Day…date TBA.
